Embrace Nature with the African Ranger Barefoot Boot
The African Ranger Barefoot Boot is all about keeping things natural and comfy for your feet. It’s like giving your feet a smooth ride on level ground. Plus, there’s lots of space up front in the toe area, so your big toe and pinkie toe can spread out without feeling squished against the sides. These boots are like your foot’s best friend – they’re super flexible and can bend and twist just like your foot would. The soles are thin, so you can feel the ground beneath you better. Going barefoot-style is where the magic happens. No need to worry about springs in your toes or fancy arch support. These boots let your feet do their thing naturally. So, if you’re all about comfy, flexible, and feet-happy footwear, the barefoot boot is where it’s at!

Absolutely the best boot I have ever worn on my feet. I have worn them on all surfaces and for 6-8 hrs and my feet are much less fatigued than other shoes. I mostly wear Lems and Vivobarefoot. Just simply a very well built boot and fit my needs 100%. I saw a review on Rose Anvil and the rest is history.

I recently discovered Jim Green and what a game changer. While not hardcore into the “barefoot” shoe movement I have spent years and countless dollars trying to find rugged, quality boots that allow for natural toe splay. For context Altra Lone Peaks have been my previous holy grail for comfort but I really have been wanting something more traditional looking and substantial-the BFAR knocks it out of the park for me. The bronco leather is…stout. These will need broken in-I opted to use Obenauf’s leather oil on them immediately which seemed to help soften the leather but also darkens it considerably. I love the look personally, the pull up leather really adds a lot of character and as they break in they are becoming so comfortable I find myself wearing them constantly. As with my AR8s they are a fairly high volume shoe for my feet. Interestingly Superfeet Green insoles in wide fit my 10.5″ BFARs perfectly with no trimming whatsoever and this helped fill in the extra volume well. I also have leather insoles ordered I plan on experimenting with as it just doesn’t seem right putting synthetics inside these. Nice enough for semi-formal settings, tough enough for pretty much any recreational outdoor activity I can think of, not ridiculously heavy, and best of all my toes have the wiggle room they need. This is only my second purchase from Jim Green but so far I am very impressed.

Just got these. I own quite a few pairs of these boots. I have black, natural veg tan, buffalo and now these. I have worn the black pair the most and have them broken in the best. They fit like a glove. Still working on breaking in the veg tan but those are very nice looking boots and more for when I need to look sharp, so haven’t worn them quite as much. Working on breaking in the buffalo but the buffalo leather is quite stiff and very rugged so it’s taking a bit longer. All that to say, this “Bronco” leather I think might be the stiffest/thickest of them all. I absolutely love them. I am so excited to break these suckers in. This leather looks great and is so rugged. I am not any sort of leather expert, so I don’t really know much about the differences. But, these boots are definitely quite stiff and will likely take longer to break in. I love Jim Green boots, they keep putting out new bootsand I can’t help but buy them, 5/5 boots!
