With the future of our wilderness areas in the hands of those with boots on the ground, Jim Green Footwear and The Game Rangers Association of Africa (GRAA) have come together to make sure this issue is addressed.

- Manufactured with a double layer of leather (2.2mm Nubuck leather, lined with 1.6mm calf leather).
- Double layer of leather aids in the boots’ water-resistant properties (not waterproof).
- 8-inch height for excellent support, comfort, and protection.
- Thermoplastic toe puff and a heel stiffener for extra support.
- A steel shank between the insole board and sole offers extra support and stability.
- Insole board is secured to the upper with a double-stitched 2.2mm braided nylon cord.
- Sole is made from genuine rubber.
- Can be resoled.
- Due to the double layer of leather, the AR8 can tackle all kinds of terrain, making it ideal for the outdoor worker or hiker requiring that extra bit of toughness.
- JG last – This last has a 3E wide fit and offers a snugger feel all around with a flatter toe box.
- Sole: OR (This sole is designed for a combination of grip, comfort, and speed. It is genuine rubber and of a softer feel to provide comfort underfoot).

These tall boots are beefy. Being double lasted as well, they came quite stiff and will take much longer to break in than my ARs. The JG last is wonderful and extra wide in the toebox. I much prefer the no-toecap look of this boot. The Houston Brown leather feels good but it does scuff quite easily – I have a few little gouges after wearing them for an evening out. For some reason the sole feels way stiffer than the ARs’, even though they have the same poly midsole and wedge sole. These will be excellent for when the weather gets cold again, and also for summer adventures in the tick-laden northeastern US. A superb deal at the sale price of $149.
