Embrace Nature with the African Ranger Barefoot Boot
The African Ranger Barefoot Boot is all about keeping things natural and comfy for your feet. It’s like giving your feet a smooth ride on level ground. Plus, there’s lots of space up front in the toe area, so your big toe and pinkie toe can spread out without feeling squished against the sides. These boots are like your foot’s best friend – they’re super flexible and can bend and twist just like your foot would. The soles are thin, so you can feel the ground beneath you better. Going barefoot-style is where the magic happens. No need to worry about springs in your toes or fancy arch support. These boots let your feet do their thing naturally. So, if you’re all about comfy, flexible, and feet-happy footwear, the barefoot boot is where it’s at!

I am a Disabled Veteran with severe osteoarthritis in my back and knees. I have always preferred boots over shoes or sneakers, even in HS. I ordered my first pair of zero drop footwear: the Barefoot African Rangers in Houston Green to wear indoors to replace the Crocs that I have been using for years as house slippers, which oftentimes would catch on the floor and cause me to lose my footing or stumble.
The collar required some breaking in. I used some leather conditioner on the inside of the collar and it really helped to soften the leather and stop it from digging into my heel. The biggest advantage of wearing the Barefoot AR occurred when I went to stand up from the seated position. Rather than having to brace myself and wobble to standing, I was able to stand straight up! I have been wearing my ARs in the house almost daily and feeling more inclined to return to doing strengthening exercises, balancing, and something I thought I could never do again – squats! I figured that with the generous toe box that ARs were good for foot problems. I had no idea that they would motivate me to return to a physical training plan. Thank you to everyone that touched these boots. I honor you with every step I take in celebration of a less painful daily lifestyle and developing stronger bones.

When these boots arrived I was immediately impressed by the quality. They are my 3rd pair of boots from Jim Greens, my favorite brand by far. They are just as impressive if not more than the Vellies and the Razorbacks that I already had. The green leather looks amazing after a light oil and wax. I work on a 100 acre campground on the coast of Oregon and I walk alot outdoors, all my boots are extremely comfortable. I am looking forward to the pair of brown African Troopers I have coming later in the year. Thank you to all the hard workers making these outstanding boots. Keep up the amazing work!

I absolutely love these boots, I’ve had barefoot shoes for years it’s great to finally have a pair of barefoot boots that can be resoled, as well as coming from a great company. Just one QC issue with them the rubber around the heel area was uneven out of the box not a big deal it will wear down

This is a well made, comfortable, and excellent boot. The sole construction is certainly more rugged than other barefoot shoe alternatives, but after 2 weeks of daily use every component of the boot has broken in and feels more like a sneaker than a traditional work or hiking boot. Some people with an extremely wide toe spread may find that the upper pinches their pinky toes, but I have had no such issues. I went a half size up as I planned to wear them with thick wool socks, and I do experience a very minor amount of heel slippage while wearing thinner socks, not enough to feel any discomfort, but it may be something that customers with narrow ankles/heels should consider. It would be amazing if you could at some point make these in a safety shoe variety, ie. steel/composite toe, slip resistant, and EH certified.

So the Houston green are my second pair of these barefoot ranger boots. Shipped fast and arrived in perfect condition. Out of the box these feel even softer than my Houston brown! Great green color with the gusseted tongue a bit lighter in color. Great looking boot that already fits perfectly. I’m an 11 in most barefoot shoes and these are nice and roomy in the toe without being too loose. Another great pair of boots from Jim Green!
