A celebration of 30 years of Boot Making

We wanted to create something unique, something with added comfort and something for everyone, while still keeping our Jim Green touch.
The Baobab Boot is inspired by the functional appeal of our two best sellers, the Razorback and African Ranger.
The durable single piece vamp from our Razorback combines with the lace up system of our African Ranger, to give you a combination like no other, that will hold up on any adventure and withstand daily wear.
We combine this with a more narrow last, although don’t let the look fool you, as this fit still caters for those with a wider foot.
The good news doesn’t end there, we have added in a leather lasting board that will gradually take to the shape of your feet and add that extra comfort and durability as time goes on.
This combibes with a Mini Lug and moulded EVA sole combination, taking the comfort of this boot to another level while still offering the ruggedness of a rubber sole.
Just like the ancient Baobab Trees of Africa, that have stood for thousands of years, we see this boot cementing its roots onto our range and becoming another legend of the range.

FEATURES

  • Leather lasting board
  • Last: ASHM – This is standard width (for those with wide feet or wearing thick socks we suggest going a half size up from your normal Jim Green size)
  • Manufactured with a double layer of leather (2.2mm full grain leather, lined with 1.6mm calf leather)
  • Double layer of leather aids in the boots water resistant properties (not waterproof)
  • Thermoplastic toe puff and a heel stiffener for extra support
  • A steel shank between the insole board and EVA offers extra support and stability
  • Midsole is secured to the upper with a double stitched 2.2mm braided nylon cord
  • Sole is made from a genuine rubber and combines with moulded EVA for added comfort
  • Stitchdown construction – Can be resoled

Product Care

The best way to preserve your Jim Greens is through regular and correct polishing. Water, heat and wear remove the natural oil from the leather, so when the tiny fibres dry out they become hard, brittle and break easily, thereby shorten the life of the leather.
For our leather boots we recommend any natural shoe polish found at your local store. For our suede options we suggest light brushing to remove dirt and a scotchguard for longer protection.
After a long day in wet conditions and you requiring your boots early the next morning, the worst possible solution is to artificially dry your boots. Leather fibres burn easily – especially when wet and therefore should never be left near a heater, placed in your oven or left in direct sunlight. For the best results, footwear should be dried out slowly and never subjected to any extreme heat. Should you work in constantly wet conditions, it is best to alternate between two or more pairs of our Jim Green boots.

We realise that buying footwear online is a daunting task and we are often asked to recommend a size by new Jim Green customers. If you happen to purchase a pair of Jim Green boots online and they do not fit, we will happily exchange them for you. If the measurements fall in-between the lengths provided, we do offer half sizes on certain styles. We can recommend a size but we can’t guarantee the fit.

    Got a pair of these in the other day and am very pleased with them. Typical excellent Jim Green value – nicely made, good leather, at a great price. I really like the leather lasting board upgrade. I’m an 11 US on the Brannock device, somewhere between an E and EE width. My Jim Green Stockmans in 11.5 are just a little too big in length, so I went with an 11.5 US in this boot. With thin socks, the fit is very snug and nice, which is what I want. If I was going to wear these with thick socks, I’d definitely want a size 12 US. This last is more narrow than typical Jim Green lasts, so they are more “almond” shaped than the typical round shape of other Jim Green shoes like the Stockman. For sure, they are more narrow than the Stockman, but not uncomfortably so. Some people say than the wider Jim Green lasts are too round and this new slimmer last may make those people happy. After about 5 miles of break-in, they are quite comfortable but still have some break-in left to go before they are perfect. I treated mine with my usual beewax weatherproofing mix, and they turned an absolutely wonderful chocolate brown color that I think looks very smart. Very happy with my purchase.

    Just got my pair and wore them half a day at work. Definitely want to take your time breaking in like most high quality boots. Fantastic support for up and down a ladder all day. I wear a ten In Clarks, Docs,Wolverine, Truman and also these Jim Greens. I wore these JG with full cushioned darn tough socks and was happy with the fit. Beautiful design, color and weight. I love how the tongue is gusseted in as well. JG recommended a size for me and they were spot on. Also, answered quickly to shipping questions about the preorder. A++ performance.

In the event something doesn't quite work, we'll gladly accept unworn or defective merchandise for return or exchange.

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES ARE EASY!

 

Locate your order number and ship-to zip code.
This info is in your order confirmation email, on your shipping label, and on your packing slip.

This will take you to the returns/exchange portal. Just follow the prompts.
You'll be able to choose what you'd like to do and get a USPS return label.

Print up the USPS return label you've just created and give the package to your postal carrier.

 

EXCHANGES AND RETURNS - FREE RETURN LABEL

The fastest and easiest way to get the correct size, color or style is to place a new order. The cost to return your order is on us!

Create a prepaid return label (using the #2 button above)

If you are just wanting to return your order then please follow the same steps.

Your original order must then be sent back to our depot in their unworn condition with their original box and inserts within 60 days of their delivery.

Once received at the depot your order will then be refunded by a credit to your original method of payment, provided all the above criteria is met.

Once received all refunds will be processed within 10 business days.

REFUNDS

  • All refunds will be credited back to the original form of payment.
  • If you paid with a Gift Card, your refund will be issued back to that gift card.
