I have 6 different pairs of Jim green, and I love Jim green. I have to pairs of razor back, they’re good boots, good quality. it just the insole are not that good ,also they’re uncomfortable if you walk on concrete.

I previously purchased a wedge sole Razorback and it has been a fantastic book. The construction was solid, but somewhat uneven here and there, but just fine for a work/hiking boot. I have purchased the tan Razorback since it is on sale, and the QC is worlds apart from where it was. Not only are they tough and well made with great materials, the finishing is very nice and on the pair I have on par with the likes of iron rangers. 10/10 boot, and even though I have Nicks and JK’s, my Razorbacks are still my go to boots for anything outdoors. I can not recommend enough.

I could tell Jim Green management how good their boots are, but they already know that. I could tell the readers of these comments how good these boots are, but all of you know that too, so that would be ‘preaching to the choir’.
I’m an old guy (70 yrs), and I wore work boots (and combat boots) nearly exclusively since I was 16. So I feel I am well qualified to comment about Jim Green Razorbacks, Vellies, and African Rangers. But I don’t need to. You already know.
What I do want to say, however, is that I spent 40 years in leadership positions, and I learned very quickly that no manager does well unless his workers do well. So, while Jim Green Boots are obviously a great company, I want to loudly recognize and thank Jim Green workers for the fine quality of their products!
My grandson and I both wear Jim Greens daily for about 3 years now, and not likely to wear anything else. But I want to tell Jim Green employees that as I anxiously pull on my Jim Greens every morning, I pause for a moment to quietly thank the hands that made them.

I wish I hade found these Razorbacks before I purchased my Danner Men’s 30860 Mountain Light II ($500.00). My Razorbacks were delivered a week ago and I’m very happy with the fit (size 11), the solid construction and comfort. I can already tell the break-in time will be less than the Danner Boots. Thanks for all the great work your folks do there.

I have worn the tan razorbacks for about a year at work, and I love them. I build ropes courses and zip lines which can be really hard on footwear. These boots are comfortable, durable, and the tread has great grip. I have problems with heel pain, after years of skateboarding, so I have had to add an additional thin foam insole on top of the original one, to help with impact and long days. I have a narrow foot. I have to cinch most shoes down, and some shoe brands are just too wide for my feet. However, the razorbacks still fit me well with proper lacing. They are also true to size, if you ask me. I wear a US 12 in almost every brand.
I have put these boots to the test. They hold up and protect when walking on cables, dragging them across and rolling telephone poles, and even when slamming them against zip lines to emergency brake. I have worn these boots to work for a week in Arizona and then on a 10 mile after work hike in the desert. These boots have been in knee deep mud in Alaska, gotten horribly gross and moldy, and then have been washed, broken back in and are still going strong.
Highly recommend.

I ordered the Vellie (dark brown) and Razorback (Tan). I ordered a size 10 but required a half size smaller. Both styles fit very similar and you can confidently order the same size in each style once you know your size. The leather is thick and very high quality. I initiated an exchange for size. I was contacted by customer service and the exchange was super smooth. A individual named Gareth contacted me, it is very obvious they care about their customers. Thank you Gareth for your help.
The style is quite unique with a classic design that will never go our of style. I imagine these will look better with age as the leather develops a nice patina. Buy them, you will love them.

Razorbacks’ lower interior leather is not smooth and is joined right at the ankle bone causing chafing on that bone. I’ll give them a few more days breaking in, but if pain continues, they are going back. Otherwise, boots are fine and appear to be high quality. This is the 1st time I’ve had an issue like this with any of the dozens of boots purchased over the years.

Having already purchased two pairs of vellies and loving the heck out of them, I ordered the Razorbacks, and I’ve had them about a month and a half. These are excellent boots. They’re taking a while to wear in. I’ve not switched out the footbeds because I’ve faith that in time they will mold to my feet same as with my vellies (which are extremely comfortable). I did notice that they seemed just a smidge shorter inside than the vellies, but that is probably because of the lining. I went with size 10.5 and they’ll do fine. As was the case with my leather vellies they did get some bumpy salt marks after getting wet, but this is just part of the break in. With applications of polish and obenaufs/huberds they smooth back out again. Mine are developing a lovely patina. For the price they’re an amazing deal. Very well made and sturdy and the soles are great. I really like their overall styling as well. I’m hoping that Jim Green will take off here in the states and that other styles and models will soon be available on this site.

I ran across these boots while watching a review on YouTube and decided I would give them a try. I ordered too small and should’ve just ordered my usual size, 12D. I contacted Gareth from Jim Green and he was very helpful, and getting a return done and the right size to me was easy and fast. These boots are well made and although I am used to a good year welted boot I do like the stitch down construction of these boots (they can be re-soled). I like that the company is proudly South African, and the quality of the boots is very good at this price point. They fit well and are very comfortable to wear, once you get better insoles, which is my only complaint with these boots. I had read some mention of this before I made my purchase and thought I’d try them out with the original insoles. They just weren’t comfortable until I replaced them. Now I am very pleased with my boots and they are breaking in nicely. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another pair of Jim Green boots in the future.

I bought both colors, one in a 12 and one in 12 1/2 , I use the 12 for working (I like a snug fit on ladders and on the job) and 12 1/2 for hiking and long days on varied terrain.
I have a wide (4e foot) I usually buy a 13w in Danner, and a 13w in wolverine….. for a reference. In most tennis shoes I’m a 13 or 13w.
Also these are amazing, I can’t wait for the rest of the styles to come to the US!

What a bargain!! Super comfortable true to size (added Dr scholls insert under original insole to take up some space for my narrow 12.5 foot)
Breakin is pretty quick and the quality of construction is unmatched at this price!
Bought both colors in this style and they were of all the same top quality of build!!
These are very durable and “tough as nails”! The craftsmanship is unmatched in this price range and they easily compare to boots twice their price!!!
