Embrace Nature with the African Ranger Barefoot Boot
The African Ranger Barefoot Boot is all about keeping things natural and comfy for your feet. It’s like giving your feet a smooth ride on level ground. Plus, there’s lots of space up front in the toe area, so your big toe and pinkie toe can spread out without feeling squished against the sides. These boots are like your foot’s best friend – they’re super flexible and can bend and twist just like your foot would. The soles are thin, so you can feel the ground beneath you better. Going barefoot-style is where the magic happens. No need to worry about springs in your toes or fancy arch support. These boots let your feet do their thing naturally. So, if you’re all about comfy, flexible, and feet-happy footwear, the barefoot boot is where it’s at!
- The boot is designed with 3 main focus areas: Comfort and Durability while at an Affordable price.
- The Anvil sole is designed to mimic the feel of walking any terrain barefoot, while giving you extra grip and protection.

Week # 2 wearing my Jim Greens! So far they are great. I have been looking for a boot to wear for work, but all other brands were distinctly odd compared to these. The soles are a little thick for barefoot, and were initially very slick on oily surfaces (I work in automotive industry). I have noticed some wear on the soles already, but time will tell.

I have the standard sole version with steel toes for work and I am a huge fan of those, so I decided to get a pair of barefoot boots for hiking and everyday wear to replace an old pair of vivo trackers. Huge upgrade in terms of quality and fit, my feet slid all over inside my trackers but these are the perfect balance between room to splay your toes and holding your foot in place. Ground feel is great, again a good balance where you don’t feel every last sharp rock but you’ll definitely know what you’re walking on.
If you’re worried about it, these only weigh 4oz per boot more than the trackers (1lb 3oz vs 1lb 7oz on my scale) so some youtuber’s assessment of these as “heavy” boots is totally unfounded. I have worn Lems, Vivos and Xeros and these are better than all of them.

I have only walked between 4-5mi in my first ever pair of JG African Barefoot Rangers in Nat Veg Tan so far. I was sold with these right out of the box. Extremely comfortable and stylish. Leather ankle is a little stiff but I am sure with some more mileage they will break in nicely. Easy 5/5. I am officially a Jim Green boot enthusiast.

Wow… the boot I’ve been waiting for. I’m about to put these on for work in a manufacturing environment. Awesome.

These are the best pair of footwear I have ever worn, barefoot or not. Though it certainly gets points for being an amazing barefoot boot as well. The construction is superb to any other barefoot shoe or boot I have tried (which is a lot). And I feel is on par with, if not better than top boot brands such as red wing or Chippewas. I can dress these up with a suit, and am just as comfortable hiking in them and everything in between. The veg tan leather is beautiful, and with a little conditioner, they felt broken in within just a few miles. Jim Green knocked it out of the park with this boot.
