In my opinion, the Jim Green Razorback is the best boot ever produced by the human race. Full stop.
That said, however, about two years ago, I discovered the barefoot movement offered me some improvements in foot health and function, so I bought a pair of Barefoot African Rangers, and they have been my everyday wear anytime I leave the house.
While satisfied with Barefoot African Rangers, the Razorback is my clear favorite, and oh how I wished every day for a Barefoot Razorback, maybe with a little more sole than the Anvil sole. Some wishes do come true.
This boot is exactly what I hoped for. While the Barefoot African Ranger is a fine boot by any measure, and my preferred boot for some purposes, the Barefoot Razorback is the bee’s knees for my daily use.
The reason I am reviewing the boot is because it has a couple of features slightly different than the standard Razorback. First, the fit is ever so slightly roomier than the standard. I noticed the same thing between the standard African Ranger and the barefoot version. In fact, I believe the fit is the same as the Barefoot African Ranger. Second, the tongue is slightly different than the standard Razorback. The gussets are narrower, requiring less folding to close. Same gusset function, but with less effort to place the tongue for lacing. Third, the tongue cushioning is thicker than the standard, so be prepared to lace somewhat tighter to compress the tongue. Lastly, the Africa sole, while obviously not a standard Razorback feature, it is significantly thicker than the Anvil sole, and completely worthy of the Razorback moniker.
None of the features are negatives; just be aware of the slight differences if you are a previous Razorback owner.

Note: This is a 1 week review, after about 35 miles, mixed trail and street use…
[...]The Barefoot Razorback is pretty much a dream boot for me, with a classic hiking boot look and feel, but with a zero-drop sole. The Africa sole is very nice…I prefer it to the Anvil sole. I am heavier-set, and these boots provide a nice amount of shock absorption on harder surfaces compared to the Barefoot Ranger. I also prefer the ankle being higher, and the padding is very nicely designed and very comfortable from the get-go. These boots have a double layer of leather, but it is soft and comfortable from day one. The inside allows your foot to slide in easily. Entry and exit is a breeze. I have Barefoot Rangers, regular Rangers, and Barefoot Troopers, but these new Barefoot Razorbacks are by far my favorite. I snazzed ’em up with some bright red and yellow laces and they look great. They also look fantastic with the plain black laces, but I could not see them to tie them in dark conditions, lol. Thanks once again, Jim Green!
